Specialist's Diploma
 
 

Specialist Diplomas are awarded to members who, in addition to the Advanced Diploma, breed five species from within any of the selected species group set out below.

Species Groups - (As ordered in Baensch Photo Index 1-5) 

Characins
Barbs & other carp-like fishes
Catfishes
Killifishes
Livebearers
Anabantids
Cichlids
Rainbow fishes, Gobies and others

A specialist's diploma can be awarded for each group.

The diploma has been awarded to the following members:

Graham Ramsay - Catfish

Corydoras sp. C121
Corydoras nijsseni - Nijssen's corydoras
Whiptail sp. LG6
- Common whiptail
Megalechis
thoracata - Hoplo catfish
Corydoras concolor - Slate corydoras

 

Fish Facts


Aphyosemion hera
is unusual because females are colourful fish in their own right rather than washed out versions of the male.

Plant Tip

Some plants are harder to grow than others. Stick to the easier species until you have more experience. Examples of easy to grow plants are Java fern, Amazon sword and Pennywort.
